Check recent waves from individuals

Hi I just discovered if you click on one of the people who are your contacts on the left, you can see recent waves that person was involved in...still trying to fully figure out this feature and how it works.

Limited apps in Wave Beta future Google problem

First, let me confess I love new technology and am a big Google fan. Love the company and love all of their new projects and work but I am a little frustrated (and from seeing a few conversations think I may not be alone)
Now that wave invites are more abundient and more people are going to be waving, I wonder if they share a bit of my frustration with:
- Limited applications to use in this relatively unstructured environment; or,
- My perception of few applications/gadgets currently available'
What I am wondering is if the lack of apps out of the box will hurt Wave a bit. You know what they say- first impressions mean alot..or whatever that phrase was...

What do you think?? Hey the Google guys are one of the smartest players so maybe I'm missing something here- why weren't there more appls out of the box?

What are your thoughts

What's Turkey and the Declaration of Independence Have to Do With Google Wave?

Seems the folks at Google Wave are doing something interesting for Thanksgiving.....We Hold These Truths To Be Awesome: The Founding Fathers Give Google Wave A Try: Now this is cool....Read more..

Google Wave notifier- get notified of new messages in any wave

Hey, I just found software that will automatically alert you when you get a new message within any of your waves. I got ontified of eight free invites I could send..probably just a coincidence with the notifier. You can find free notifier sofwate here.

Wave Needs a To Do Widget

Tracking what you have to do is something everyone needs to do- and I'm thinking Wave should have a todo widget. Here's what I'd like to see:

1. Consolidated view of all todos puling from mutiple waves so you can put a todo in any wave and it will display in a summary wave.
2. Standard capability of most to do lists such as to be done, done, and scheduled on a certain date. Also I'd like the ability to assign todos to other folks in the same way Google Calendar lets you handle appointments.
3. When a to do is marked as a scheduled meeting, it automatically places appropriately schedules in the calendars of those the todos are assigned to.
4. Ability in consolidated to do view to see what wave it came from and to filter the consolidated view of todos by the wave from which it came.
5. Ability to set todo reminders either from any wave or from the consolidated view.

I could go on and on here but this to do list is a good start. What else would you like to see? With all these ideas, I'd like to figure out a way to get paid for them ..work with a developer for a revenue share...work for Google?

Anyway, tell me what you'd like to see in a todo for Wave. Bye until next time and have a great weekend and upcoming holiday season.

Google Wave Gadgets

I just noticed the addition of a Google Wave Gadget button when I write or edit a blip. It allows you to add a gadget by url. I looked for a list of gadgets on the net and found a list that included gadgets, some you add simply by adding another contact provided to your Wave.More gadgets are here.

I think gadget development will be interesting as we see hundreds of Wave Gadgets that take advantage of Wave's open architecture allowing lots of custom development work.

Wave member active alerting

For some folks that I am involved in in one or more waves, I'd like to be alerted that they have posted something new and/or that they are actively typing in one of the waves. This makes the collaboration even a bit more live to me because I am notified as they are actually typing/collaborating..

Wave Settings Idea

I know the Google folks are working on settings for Waves. Don't know what they are up to but here are some thoughts:

- Blip Editing- Let someone edit blips (so people can change what I wrote) Y/N

- Adding Others to a Wave- Anyone can add anyone else to a wave or this wave is by invitation only. Invite options: By creator of wave or by any member of the wave

- Public or private wave- A public wave anyone can search for, a private wave is not visible

- Wave Update Notification- For each wave, I can set if/how I want to be notified if new content is added. Of course, now new stuff makes the wave show up in the inbox. I'd like to see these options for each wave:
- Notify me with a pop up alert (like the option in Gmail)
- Ntofiy me by email to my gmail account where there is new stuff

Linked In Wave Special Interest Group

Hey, if you know me, you know I am a huge "raving fan" about LinkedIn. I often call it the "sleeper social media property" because many people have no idea how powerful it is.

What does this have to do with Google Wave? Simply this- a Google Wave Special Interest Group has formed within LinkedIn.com. There are already over 1,000 people in it. Except for the annoying messages "send me an invite please" (which I understand since I was there), the group is a great source for exchanging information.

Need Wave Filters- Wish List

Help- I'm finding after I while I have so many waves it is hard to navigate through them. One of my wish lists is to be able to filter waves. So here's the way it would work- I can choose to pick one or multiple categories to assign to a Wave and then filter my wave list by those categories. Another expansion of this idea (although this might still keep it confusing) is to be able to color code waves)

I have lots of other wave ideas. Dr. Wave, can we talk?? Or do any developers out there want to partner with me? I supply the ideas, you do the development and somehow we share in the revenue/benefits??

Read Only Waves

I noticed Dr. Wave from Google provides information using read only Waves. I like this feature when I might want to provide an information only Wave. Although I know collaboration is Wave I could envision periodic need for ready only Waves. Does anyone know how to do this.

Wave Interaction Protocol??

Wave needs an interaction protocol? Remember how forums post certain rules on how members should interact? I think Wave might need the same thing..I thought of it when I went into the first entry of a wave by my business associate and friend Clay Cotton. I edited his wave and made it better but he got angry that I edited his thoughts "the way he thinks" Perhaps Wave should be set so you can't change someone else's entry- or does that lessen the collaboration environment? What do you think?

Welcome to My Wave Journal!

Hi everyone! I decided I'd start a journal sharing my experiences with Google Wave since I find it so interesting, unique, and full of such possibilities. Okay, let me admit I'm a tech junkie ..and business associates and friends think I own stock in Google (which I don't) because I love the company and am always as involved as I can be with their latest stuff such as at Google Labs.

So, I hope you enjoy by Google Journal meanderings...and please share your experiences...
